“Overall things went well. The developers created quality code that was logically structured and easy to understand. Everyone as very responsive and requests were incorporated promptly. The software itself was delivered within reasonable time.
On the other hand, I spent more time explaining the details of some standard methods like the Newton Raphson algorithm than I was planning to. With the first delivery, documentation was practically non-existent. In the end, documentation was acceptable but could have been more elaborate.
Technical knowledge related to software development in general and specifically in Java was good on the Xebia side. More experience with numerical methods would have been desirable. It would be very helpful to have at least one person with the right domain knowledge available.
In the end, I am satisfied with the outcome and I am looking forward to working together again in the future.”
“It has been late august that Anurag and I agreed on a joined Human Inference-Xebia team that would work together as one team to build the first product on new technology. Although during the preceding POC Maarten, Gaurav and Saket got already experience with the whole Lucene/Java stack, making a real enwrapped product is never trivial. And as I don’t believe in long development periods, it might be a bit too optimistic to ramp up in September, and push the team for the 4th or even the 24th of December to deliver. And you did manage that.
